Meet Jennie: Jennie is a registered Occupational Therapist. Jennie received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Alvernia University in 2019.

She has worked as an occupational therapist in schools in Maryland and Pennsylvania. After growing up in Indiana County and working locally as an Occupational Therapist, Jennie saw a need for additional pediatric occupational therapy outpatient services in the area. Growing up with horses and working closely with them throughout her adult life, Jennie saw the benefits that horses and a horse's movement can offer individuals in achieving functional goals. Jennie is excited to be offering occupational therapy services utilizing hippotherapy in conjunction with other treatment strategies.

Jennie recently completed the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA) Hippotherapy Treatment Principles I Course. She is working toward the Hippotherapy Treatment Principles II Course and taking the American Hippotherapy Certification Board (AHCB) Hippotherapy Certification Exam.

In addition, Jennie has completed continuing education in the areas of handwriting, dysgraphia, neurodiversity, visual deficits, evidence for OT interventions in nature, and functional motor concerns.

In her free time, Jennie loves playing with her two dogs (Nicco and Randy), running, gardening, and baking.

Cindy (with Star Equestrians) and Jennie (with Toy Box OT), work closely together through Star Equestrians, to provide Occupational Therapy to children utilizing hippotherapy.

Meet Cindy: "I have been an Occupational Therapy Assistant since 1997, a PATH Intl Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI)., and an entrepreneur. I graduated from Mount Aloysius in 1997 and have worked as a COTA in various treatment facilities. I have most recently begun a virtual handwriting program called The Horsemanship Writing Club.

I opened Star Equestrians in June of 1998 and have been the executive director since we obtained our 501c3 non profit status. Star Equestrians has called Greens N’ Grazers farm home since the very beginning.  The farm, Greens N’ Grazers, is home to eight horses, chickens, pigs, and crops of veggies, herbs, and cut flowers.

In my free time, I enjoy growing organic vegetables, spending time with my husband and daughters, and caring for the various farm animals who find their way to Star Equestrians at Greens N' Grazers."
