Outpatient Occupational Therapy

In Occupational Therapy, we work toward functional goals, tailored to each individual’s occupations and what they want to and need to be able to do as independently as possible. Occupational therapy can help to develop fine-motor coordination, upper extremity strength and endurance,  sensory processing skills, self-care skills, play skills, and handwriting. In our pediatric occupational therapy services, we utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment strategies for clients to work toward individualized goals that focus on increasing function and independence in daily activities of the child. Appropriate individualized goals are determined through assessment procedures and thorough input from family and the child themself. Progress is tracked and celebrated as it is achieved!

Hippotherapy

Hippotherapy is a research based technique that utilizes equine movement to provide various motor and sensory input to the individual. Skillfully directed equine movement, under the direction of a licensed therapist, can offer the individual an opportunity for complex motor learning. Hippotherapy, in conjunction with other treatment strategies, promotes the engagement of the sensory, neuromotor, and cognitive systems, and improved balance, coordination, and motor skills to assist in reaching functional outcomes. Hippotherapy can be appropriate for children as young as 2 years old. In order to keep our horses, therapists, and client
s safe, the maximum weight limit for hippotherapy is set at 150 pounds.
